Honey in Minneapolis

It was a dark, stormy Thursday night. And I was hungry. And in the mood for some... accordion music... ??? Well, yes. Enter Honey.
It was my first time there and I was very impressed. At first, I was doubtful as I headed down the stairs to this basement eatery (my thoughts perhaps tainted by the "interesting" things I've seen in basements). But, a turn to the left at the base of the stairs revealed a swanky little joint. In the spotlight near the back, a little old man showing an accordion "who's your daddy" and an equally small lady belting out a french little number (I suddenly crave a croissant and I don't know why...).

The food: very good! A perfectly-sized menu for those of us who are easily distracted by too many options. We had the Ploughman's repast (which included a melt-in-your-mouth pate, delish charcuterie, and grilled bread), the Beet LT (terrific), and the truffle fries (perfectly salty). For dessert: the dark chocolate flight. Too bad my date likes chocolate as much as I do - she ate half of everything (the nerve).
We'll definitely be back. And, we'll do so on a Thursday when the accordion music blares (I understand it may become a regular occurrence). One is inextricably linked to the other in my head.
